WHAT TO PREPARE
-
VOCALS: Bring 16–32 bars (30–60 seconds) of a COUNTRY SONG (NOT FROM THE SHOW) that best shows your vocal range and ability. DO NOT bring a traditional musical theater song. We want to hear heart, storytelling, and a little twang! Please bring a background track in the appropriate key to sing with. We will have a Bluetooth speaker to connect your phone to.
-
DANCE: A short dance combination will be taught to all. Wear comfortable clothing and be ready to move. Do not worry if you are not a dancer, we just want to see how you move!
-
ACTING: We will perform light scene work with cold readings from the script.
-
CONFLICTS: Please bring a list of any and all potential conflicts between May 10th and July 19th. These must be notated on your audition form.

PRINCIPAL ROLES
JENNA COATES
-
Gender: Female
-
Vocal Part: Strong Pop/Country Belt (Mezzo/Soprano). Needs a "powerhouse" voice with distinct country twang/style.
-
Description: The hometown hero who returns in defeat. She is ambitious, talented, and proud, but currently lost and vulnerable. She has to learn that "making it" doesn't always mean leaving home. She carries the emotional weight of the show.
DUSTIN
-
Gender: Male
-
Vocal Part: Tenor / High Baritone. Must be comfortable with high sustained notes or a strong falsetto (sings "Jolene").
-
Description: Jenna’s high school sweetheart who stayed in Harmony. He is hardworking, loyal, and currently conflicted. He has tried to move on with his new girlfriend, Stephanie, but Jenna’s return shakes up his world.
LIZ
-
Gender: Female
-
Vocal Part: Strong Mezzo/Alto with a rock/grit edge.
-
Description: Jenna’s best friend and the owner of "Danny’s Place," the local watering hole. She is the grounding force of the group—sassy, practical, honest, and fiercely loyal. She is the one who tells it like it is.
JOE
-
Gender: Male
-
Vocal Part: Country Baritone/Tenor.
-
Description: Works at Danny's Place. He is charming, laid-back, and totally in love with Liz (though she keeps him at arm's length). He provides comedic relief but also has a heart of gold.
CRYSTAL COATES
-
Gender: Female
-
Vocal Part: Alto/Mezzo.
-
Description: Jenna’s mother. Warm, supportive, and the peacemaker of the family. She hides her own worries to keep the family spirit alive.
HARLEY COATES
-
Gender: Male
-
Vocal Part: Baritone.
-
Description: Jenna’s father. A hardworking man who loves his family deeply but feels the stress of Harmony’s economic downturn. He is proud of Jenna but hurt by her absence.
KYLIE COATES
-
Gender: Female
-
Age Range: Late Teens (17-19)
-
Vocal Part: Mezzo/Soprano.
-
Description: Jenna’s younger sister. She is smart, observant, and a bit snarky. She resents Jenna for leaving and for the pressure put on her to be the "good one" who stayed. She is desperate to find her own path.
SUPPORTING & FEATURED ROLES
RU ANN

-
Description: Harmony lifer and jack of all trades. She is the town Zumba instructor, big hearted, opinionated and town gossip.

BAILEY STONE
-
